Your Next Chapter. Our Newest Community.

Help build the team that will bring Fleet Landing at Nocatee to life.

We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to play a key role in opening our newest senior living community. This is an opportunity to recruit our opening team, establish strong HR practices, and help shape a workplace where people feel supported and take pride in their work.

Recruiting will be a major focus from the start. You’ll partner with community leaders to turn staffing plans into successful hires—building relationships, developing candidate pipelines, and coordinating hiring timelines to support opening readiness. You’ll also serve as a trusted resource for employee relations, lead onboarding and orientation, and oversee employment compliance, leave administration, and workers’ compensation.

Our Story

Since 1990, Fleet Landing has brought together exceptional hospitality, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to helping older adults live well. Fleet Landing at Nocatee carries that legacy forward as a new Life Plan Community designed around active living, wellness, and exceptional service.

Our people make that mission possible. Joining the opening team offers a unique opportunity to help establish the culture, relationships, and service standards that will define this community for years to come.

What You’ll Do

Recruit our opening team

  • Partner with leaders to establish staffing priorities and hiring timelines aligned with the community’s opening and operational needs.

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing and screening through selection and offers.

  • Build candidate pipelines through community partnerships, schools, professional networks, social media, and hiring events.

  • Create a responsive, welcoming candidate experience and keep hiring managers informed of progress.

Welcome and develop our staff

  • Lead an organized onboarding experience from offer acceptance through the introductory employment period.

  • Plan and conduct engaging new hire orientation that introduces our mission, culture, policies, and service expectations.

  • Partner with department leaders to coordinate job-specific training and prepare staff members for success.

  • Coordinate initial, annual, and recurring training, monitor completion, and maintain accurate documentation.

Lead employee relations and support managers

  • Serve as an approachable, trusted resource for staff members and leaders, addressing concerns with professionalism, discretion, and timely follow-through.

  • Coach managers on performance management, conflict resolution, corrective action, and documentation.

  • Conduct workplace investigations and coordinate appropriate resolution with HR leadership.

  • Guide managers through sensitive employment decisions, promoting fair treatment and consistent application of company policies.

  • Support staff engagement and recognition, using employee feedback and exit interviews to strengthen retention and the workplace experience.

Oversee compliance, leave, and workers’ compensation

  • Maintain HR practices that support compliance with applicable employment laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

  • Administer Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other leave processes, including required notices, documentation, tracking, and communication with staff members and managers.

  • Coordinate reasonable accommodation and return-to-work processes with HR leadership and appropriate partners.

  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and follow-up, including coordination with carriers, managers, and staff members regarding work restrictions, light duty, and return to work.

  • Oversee pre-employment screening and ongoing employment requirements, including applicable background screening, exclusion checks, licenses, and certifications.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and conduct periodic audits to support ongoing compliance and survey readiness.

Manage daily HR operations

  • Supervise, coach, and develop the community HR team.

  • Oversee accurate, timely payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR system records.

  • Partner with community and HR leadership on workforce planning, policy implementation, and process improvements.

  • Use workforce data to monitor hiring progress, turnover, and other priorities.

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree.

  • At least five years of recruiting and human resources management experience, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.

  • At least three years of successful staff supervision.

  • Strong recruiting skills and the ability to manage multiple hiring priorities.

  • Experience handling employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and sensitive employment matters.

  • Working knowledge of employment compliance, FMLA, reasonable accommodations, and workers’ compensation administration.

  • Confidence conducting orientation, facilitating training, and coaching managers.

  • Sound judgment, discretion, and strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with HR, payroll, and applicant tracking systems.

  • A commitment to serving older adults by supporting the people who care for them.
