We are seeking a Sous Chef whose primary supports the Chef de Cuisine in all production and service of food. This position is the culinary role-model in ensuring the team focuses on quality, consistence and proper presentation of all meals being prepared.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports the mission, vision, and core values of Fleet Landing.
  • Assures that Residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to register complaints, are followed.
  • Follows all established safety procedures and precautions. Reports all unsafe/ hazardous conditions, and/ or defective equipment to the Executive Chef. Reports all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to Manager.
  • Asist with Ordering/ Receiving
  • Shift supervision of all kitchen areas.
  • Kitchen Manager on Duty in absence of Executive Chef.
  • Supervises daily shift operations.
  • Ensures Staff are in compliance with appearance standards.
  • Inspects kitchen for neatness and cleanliness.
  • Trains workers in performance of duties.
  • Inspects equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met.
  • Requisitions and inspects foodstuffs, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met.
  • Ensures compliance with all Nutritional Services regulations, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Acts as the guest service role model for dining, sets a good example of excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for resident relations.
  • Handles resident problems and complaints.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Minimum Education Required:
High school education preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak English and follow written and oral directions. Technical or vocation training in Food Service or one (1) year on-the-job training is preferred.
 
Experience:
Hospitality experience is required. Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel preferred). Must have one (1) year or more experience in supervising.
