We are seeking an Activity Assistant whose primary responsibility is to provide quality programs to our Residents that celebrate life, promote socialization, and provide Resident fulfillment. Assist in planning monthly calendars and events; banquet event orders related to events; delivery of activity programs as planned including group and individual activities for our Residents. Work in cohesion with other staff members, departments, volunteers, and families to provide the highest quality of care and services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the mission, vision, and core values of Fleet Landing.
- Assures that Residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to register complaints, are followed.
- Follows all established safety procedures and precautions. Reports all unsafe/ hazardous conditions, and/ or defective equipment to Healthcare Activity Manager. Reports all incidents/accidents to Healthcare Activity Manager.
- Understand and abide by the policy and procedures of Fleet Landing.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information.
- Communicates through appropriate channels.
- Responsible for the facilitation and execution of daily group and individual Resident activities in assigned building(s).
- May be responsible for the planning and execution of monthly activity calendar for assigned building alongside fellow activity assistants, which provides purposeful activities, suited to the resident’s needs and interests in accordance with the Resident assessments.
- Creates flyers and décor for Resident activities and events.
- Complete Resident assessments as needed per area.
- May be required to complete dining duties if your assigned building of Healthcare requires.
- Required to work at least two (2) full Activities shifts per month (as schedule allows)
- Required to work at least one (1) major holiday per year (Major holidays include: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day)
- Required to work at least one (1) minor holiday per year (Minor holidays include: Valentine’s Day, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, Christmas Eve, and New Years Eve)
- Performs other duties as assigned by Education and Programs Manager and Education and Programs Coordinator
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education Required:
High school diploma or College degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year in social, recreational, or dependent care environment. Experience working with dementia and Alzheimer patients a plus, working with groups of seniors, and driving seniors experience necessary.
