Fleet Landing currently has over 140 healthcare beds including a post-acute unit, long-term care, assisted living, and memory care. Our latest expansion, Beacon Pointe at Fleet Landing, will bring 128 new Independent Living Residences including 30 new skilled nursing beds, and 38 new assisted living to our thriving community!
 
Fleet Landing is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing who is responsible for the day to day direction, coordination and general supervision of skilled nursing care within the skilled nursing facility.  Responsibility spans development, organization, implementation and evaluation of programs in accordance with the Medicare Conditions of Participation, Accreditation Standards, State licensure requirements, and the policies and procedures of the skilled nursing facility. The position is responsible for operations, budgets, and oversight of full time, part time and PRN staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supports the mission, vision, and core values of Fleet Landing.
  2. Assures that Residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to register complaints, are followed.
  3. Follows all established safety procedures and precautions.  Reports all unsafe/ hazardous conditions, and/ or defective equipment to Manager.  Reports all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to Manager.
  4. Knowledge of federal, state, and local government regulations and legislation; and 
implements regulatory changes as required.
  1. Maintains strict conformity to Medicare compliance policies and the legal requirements applicable to their function and job responsibilities.
  2. The R.N. Coordinator must complete the Signature and Date (Z0050 A and Z0050 B) for all assessments and Signature and Date for the CAA Summary Process (V0200 B1. AND V0200 B2.) for comprehensive assessments.
  3. Coordinates, gathers data and completes the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI)/MDS 3.0 in an accurate and timely manner.
  4. Implements individual plans of care with interdisciplinary approach in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations and established policies and procedures.
  5. Assures that all MDS assessments are completed in a timely manner by all departments and reviews for completeness and accuracy of information.
  6. Determines the RUG categories of Medicare payments for patients based upon the MDS assessments and in collaboration with the MDS team.
  7. Assures all MDS data is submitted properly to the appropriate state agency, adhering to Federal and State guidelines.
  8. Communicates appropriately and clearly to co-workers, billing office manager, medical records director, other clinical managers, facility administrator, fiscal intermediary, manage care organizations and physician.
  9. Evaluates and re-evaluates as necessary Resident needs and level of care by the standards and requirements of licensure, Federal regulations and MDS requirements.
  10. Coordinates efforts from all resources available, i.e., clients, staff, health care professionals and the care plan team to achieve optimal plan for each individual plan of care.
  11. Attends and participates in individual Resident quarterly care planning meetings, quarterly QI/QA committee meetings and other committee meetings as deemed appropriate by the DON.
  12. Monitor Resident status changes to ensure appropriate timely nursing/clinical team involvement and modifying of the care planning process.
  13. Assure MDS/RAI and support documentation are accurate representations of the Resident and meet regulatory and auditor expectations.
  14. Perform regular audits of documentation to assure accuracy and they meet regulatory expectations.
  15. Participates in the development, periodic review and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures.
  16. Participates in surveys by authorized government agencies.
  17. Maintains privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions and other information relating to Residents, other staff members and the facility.
  18. Attends and participates in staff on-going training and educational classes.
  19. Coordinates with therapies – Occupational, Physical and Speech – regarding Resident progress.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. Must hold a current valid RN license to practice nursing in the State of Florida or show proof of application for such. One (1) year additional education or work experience in nursing service supervision or administration and education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing.
 
Experience:
Three (3) years minimum, five (5) years preferred as a registered nurse. Must have knowledge of all details of nursing care to geriatric Residents and previous experience in a convalescent home or general hospital with supervisory or charge nurse abilities.
