Fleet Landing currently has over 140 healthcare beds including a post-acute unit, long-term care, assisted living, and memory care. Our latest expansion, Beacon Pointe at Fleet Landing, will bring 128 new Independent Living Residences including 30 new skilled nursing beds, and 38 new assisted living to our thriving community!
 
We are seeking an  LPN whose primary responsibility is to supervise the floor care of residents assigned to his/her floor. Follows approved medical procedures in all aspects. Complies with Nancy House policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure that all Nursing Assistants assigned to you follow the written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of The Nancy House.
  2. Cooperates with other Resident services regarding care, quality assurance program, completion of forms, participation in surveys, makes recommendations.
  3. Admits, transfers and discharges Residents as required.
  4. Charts all accidents/incidents involving a Resident.
  5. Charts nurses’ notes in informative manner, completes required record keeping, records new diet orders, transcribes physician’s orders, and reports all discrepancies to the Unit Manager.
  6. Prepares and administers medications as ordered by the physician.
  7. Assures prescribed medication is administered to correct Resident; verifies identity.
  8. Orders prescribed medications and supplies.
  9. Ensures that narcotic records are accurate, disposes of drugs as required, notifies attending physician of automatic stop orders.
  10. Notifies Unit Manager of all drug and narcotic discrepancies noted on your shift.
  11. Informs Unit Manager of staffing needs.
  12. Makes daily rounds.
  13. Assures that department staff and Residents follow department’s policies and procedures.
  14. Provides leadership to nursing assistants.
  15. Administers professional services; makes independent decisions concerning nursing care.
  16. Participates in the orientation of new Resident and family members of Fleet Landing.
  17. Notifies Residents attending physician and next of kin when there is a change in Resident’s condition, informs family members of the death of a Resident.
  18. Participates in the development, planning, conducting, and scheduling of in-service training.
  19. Participates in continuing education programs.
  20. Monitors your assigned staff assuring safety regulations are being met.
  21. Maintains safe and clean work areas, maintains infection control program and reports hazardous conditions.
  22. Assures stock level of medications, supplies and equipment; recommends to the Unit Manager equipment and supply needs of the unit.
  23. Monitors nursing procedures and care.
  24. Reviews Resident care plans, goals, and problems and makes revisions.
  25. Maintains the confidentiality of all Resident care information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  26. Ensures that nursing service staff are knowledgeable of the Residents’ rights and responsibilities.
  27. Reviews complaints and grievances made by Residents and makes a written report.
  28. Performs all duties assigned by Unit Manager.
 
Qualifications:
 
Minimum Education Required:
Must be licensed Practical Nurse. Must hold a valid license for the State of Florida or show proof of an application for such. Current valid CPR certification required.
 
Experience:
Must have knowledge of all phases of nursing care to residents and previous experience in a convalescent home, skilled nursing facility, or general hospital with supervisory or charge nurse abilities.  Some experience in geriatrics is preferable.
