Fleet Landing currently has over 140 healthcare beds including a post-acute unit, long-term care, assisted living, and memory care. Our latest expansion, Beacon Pointe at Fleet Landing, will bring 128 new Independent Living Residences including 30 new skilled nursing beds, and 38 new assisted living to our thriving community!
We are seeking an RN Supervisor whose primary responsibility is to admit new patients by completing admission forms; coordinating and arranging physical, social, emotional and support services. Complete the assessment within 24 hours of admission for each patient. Completion of assessment includes interviews with the Patients, Family and/or other caregivers. Perform wound assessment, reassessment and management for all Patients/Residents.  This includes:  pressure, arterial, venous, diabetic and surgical wounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as house supervisor in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
  • Assists in orientation of all new staff members assigned.
  • Observes Residents and report significant changes to the physician, Unit Manager and Director of Nursing. Informs oncoming shift of the changes, new orders, etc. Document on nurse’s notes as necessary.
  • Administers Resident medications as ordered by the physician, documenting all pertinent information.
  • Performs treatment for Residents as ordered by the physician, documenting all pertinent information.
  • Works effectively and harmoniously with other departments to improve the quality of Resident care utilizing all available resources.
  • Prevents Resident and staff member injury. Notifies the Director of Nursing of potential safety hazards promptly.
  • Assists in establishing policies and procedures to improve Resident care.
  • Communicates to all shifts any change in policy and procedure making sure all communications are fully understood.
  • Confers with Unit Manager and Social Services Coordinator if room changes are necessary for Resident’s well-being.
  • Orders medications and supplies for unit, meeting assigned inventory.
  • Communicate with staff, physicians, Patients/Residents and families when necessary.  Must be friendly and able to listen to the needs and concerns of the Patients/Resident and explain complicated concepts in a clear and concise way.
  • Use computers to input data and fluent/proficient use of electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in the Nurse Leadership rotation in weekly increments; providing a clinical resource to staff after hours and in the event of a staff absence report to work and provide coverage in any level of care in the health care environments.
Minimum Education Required:
Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing.  In addition, must hold a current valid R.N. license to practice in the state of Florida or show proof of application for such.  Must participate in continuing education so that there is knowledge of current trends and development in nursing.  Current CPR certification.  Must be computer literate. Must be able to multitask, listen, verbally communicate and exhibit high energy levels. Teamwork, people skills, documentation skills, PC proficiency, organization, bedside manner, creating a safe effective environment is also required.
Two (2) years medical/surgical nursing experience in nursing home or a hospital. Experience in supervision.
