Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Manager, Campus Housekeeping Services whose primary responsibility is manage the day-to-day department operations. Provide leadership and direction to hourly staff. Responsible for daily quality control programs. Create an annual budget and provide monthly variance explanations. Elevate resident satisfaction. Ensure daily coverage and cleaning of resident units and common areas. Conduct monthly in-service meetings with staff to cover training, policy and procedural updates. Monitor linen par levels to ensure appropriate supply and coordinate personal laundry tracking to minimize loss. Schedule and inform residents of annual expanded cleanings. Responsible for the hiring, training and development of staff. Responsible for conducting performance inspections in residential units and commons areas. Accountable for performance of staff in their assigned areas. Promotes a positive work environment. Responsible for progressive discipline; coaching, documentation, terminations. Ensure policies and procedures are followed according to the Fleet Landing handbook. Complete and administer performance evaluations of all staff. Recommends, documents, and implements policies and procedures as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a good working rapport with other departments within Fleet Landing to ensure overall resident needs are being met.
  • Orders and maintains an adequate level of supplies.
  • Participates in the Safety Committee.
  • Performs inspections to ensure cleanliness of resident specific space as well as common areas.
  • Accommodates resident request in a timely manner and ensures quality customer service.
  • Interprets and explains policies and procedures to housekeeping staff
  • Reviews housekeeping policies, procedures, manuals and job descriptions at least annually, and recommends changes.
  • Makes changes to department work assignments when needed to increase efficiency.
  • Recognizes and prioritizes housekeeping deficiencies.
  • Reports any significant information to the Senior Director, Campus Services.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous conditions to maintenance.  
  • Follows established fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures equipment is clean and properly stored.
  • Participates in the community Emergency Plan as necessary in support of all residents.
Minimum Education Required:
College degree preferred, but not necessary. 
Experience leading groups of thirty or more employees as well as managing team supervisors.
