Our Opportunity
We are seeking a Wellness Associate whose primary responsibility is to 
provide hands-on wellness services including orientations, functional fitness assessments, personal training, post-rehabilitation and adaptive wellness in accordance with federal and state regulations, customer needs and company policies, with a focus on achieving and maintaining a high standard of Resident satisfaction and meeting organizational business objectives for independent living Residents. Improves the health and well-being of the Fleet Landing Community as guided by the WELLInspired™ program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides essential teamwork for the Exercise is Medicine program.
  • Develops small-group interaction through planned and spontaneous programming.
  • Leads and develops Resident programs such as fitness challenges.
  • Acts professionally. Maintains accurate weekly time and attendance records. Adheres to dress code, attendance, and punctuality standards.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of facilities and equipment. Assists in equipment cleaning and maintenance, informing the supervisor of any breakage or items needing replacement.
  • Maintains certifications.
  • Leads small, and possibly large, group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the Fleet Landing mission.
  • Conducts energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes.
  • Builds effective relationships with Residents; helps Residents connect with each other.
  • Keeps accurate class attendance records.
  • Follows Fleet Landing policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations, reports all incidents to direct supervisor and provides any necessary follow-up.
  • Introduces themselves before each class and welcomes all new participants.
  • Secures any substitute needed for instruction of scheduled class that cannot be taught.
Minimum Education Required:
ACSM certified Exercise Physiologist preferred. Four-year degree in a related field of study preferred or equivalent experience with appropriate certifications in health and fitness.
Three (3) years or more of personal training experience with Senior populations required. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience designing programs for older adults. Additionally, experience leading group exercise classes for older adults is a plus. Demonstrated proficient use of office equipment and Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel, Publisher & Power Point, or some other presentation software and Internet resources.  Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.  Documented ability to function and excel in team environment.
