Our latest expansion, Beacon Pointe at Fleet Landing, will bring 128 new Independent Living Residences including 30 new skilled nursing beds, and 38 new assisted living to our thriving community!
Fleet Landing is seeking a Resource Nurse Manager who is responsible for supervising and control the quality of Resident care on the assigned unit, maintaining the standards of Fleet Landing.  To provide professional supervisory nursing practice and control the quality of Resident care within the Health Center maintaining the standards of Fleet Landing, State and Federal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists in orientation of all new staff members assigned to shift.
  • Observes Residents and report significant changes to the physician, Unit Manager and Director of Nursing. Informs oncoming shift of the changes, new orders, etc. Document on nurse’s notes as necessary.
  • Administers Resident medications as ordered by the physician, documenting all pertinent information.
  • Performs treatment for Residents as ordered by the physician, documenting all pertinent information.
  • Communicate with staff, doctors, Patients/Residents and families when necessary.  Must be friendly and able to listen to the needs and concerns of the Patients/Resident and explain complicated concepts in a clear and concise way
  • Use computers to input data and fluent use of electronic health records (EHR)
  • Responsible for admitting new patients by completing admission forms; coordinating and arranging physical, social, emotional and support services.
  • Complete the assessment within 24 hours of admission for each patient.  Completion of assessment includes interviews with the Patients, Family or other caregivers.
  • Ability to perform wound assessment, reassessment and management for all Patients/Residents.  This includes:  pressure, arterial, venous, diabetic and surgical wounds
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of staging system for pressure wounds
  • Develop skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown
  • Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the Patients/Residents response to treatment and evaluate overall plan for effectiveness
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain.  Utilize appropriate pain management techniques.  Educate the Patient and family regarding pain management.
Minimum Education Required:
Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing with an associate degree, diploma or B.S.N degree.  In addition, must hold a current valid R.N. license to practice in the state of Florida or show proof of application for such.  Must participate in continuing education so that there is knowledge of current trends and development in nursing.  Current CPR certification.  Must be computer literate. Must be able to multitask, listen, verbally communicate and exhibit high energy levels. Teamwork, people skills, documentation skills, PC proficiency, organization, bedside manner, creating a safe effective environment is also required.
Two (2) years medical/surgical nursing experience in nursing home or a hospital. Experience in supervision.
